| Las previsiones eran de cielo azul y viento de Este, que a lo largo del día rolaría a Oeste, como de costumbre no se cumplieron. Durante todo el día hubo un sol ligeramente velado por nubes altas y calma absoluta, si acaso, una ligera brisa en altura de 3 km/h de Este. Las únicas rachas que entraban en los despegues eran térmicas, lo que produjo una indecisión a la hora de elegir el despegue adecuado. Al final, la organización se decidió por el Este, que es el que parecía ofrecer las mejores condiciones, no obstante dejaron a elección del piloto el sitio de salida, lo que hizo que algunos se decidiesen por la Oeste. De hecho, los que optaron por la Este, la mayoría, debían dirigirse rápidamente a la cara Oeste, para apoyarse en esta ladera, o aventurarse al centro del valle en busca de las pocas térmicas que se desprendían. La prueba consistió, si no recuerdo mal, en ir hasta el frontón de Lanzahita, volver en sentido contrario hasta Buenaventura, continuar hasta Gavilanes y regresar al aterrizaje oficial de Pedro Bernardo. | |
