Paragliding competition Long Mynd 2007
Filmed August 2007 Long Mynd UK Little Britain has never been short of people who thought they could fly. Recent climatic variations and technological developments have actually made it possible. This is the Long Mynd ridge just after launch whilst gliders jostle for position and seek the first thermals to get height and go 'cross country'. Pilots compete to be fastest over a set course. The British Paragliding Cup is an entry level competition typical distances are 20-40km. The British Open Championship has several international rounds with distances up to 100km. Free Flyers, friends and family are welcome at these events. There is an opportunity to learn about flying no matter what your current level and a great need for marshals and helpers in every aspect of running a competition and the social side of flying.
