Tandem gets clobbered |

Just arrived at Tapalpa to see the only wing there take off with a tandem passenger. Time of day 12:30, thermic. Starts to fly and doing great then goes just above launch at apex of hill and gets clobbered with some turbulence. Takes full frontal, partially recovers, then full stall, recovers then surges at which time we got the camera started...all ended well no injury. Pilot did well to try and recover. Close call though..One school kid passenger has a story to tell his friends. Talked to the pilot the day after hen my girlfriend flew with him at the end of the week. All good! [More] [Less]
